Our Services
Walk-in Medical Care When You Need It, In Dodge City
At ABC Family Medicine, we do not require appointments or referrals. If you cannot wait until your primary care physician has time for an appointment, we are here to provide the immediate medical care you need at a fraction of the cost you will encounter at the emergency room.
When to Go to Walk-in Care
Though the names are similar, walk-in care is very different from emergency care. Walk-in care centers provide services similar to what you will find at your primary care provider, such as flu shots, x-rays, etc. We save you the trouble of working around your regular doctor’s schedule. When you or a member of your family needs medical attention ASAP, we are here to help.
You can find the following services at ABC Family Medicine:
- Primary care services
- Flu shots
- X-ray services
- Lab testing
- Treatment for minor injuries
- COVID-19 rapid tests and vaccine
- BTL EMSELLA incontinence treatment
- Weight loss clinic
Emergency centers are much more expensive than walk-in care services because emergency room resources are intended to only be used for serious, life-threatening issues. For example, if you have a bad cold and your doctor is unavailable, the emergency room may accept you, but they will charge more for the time and resources they had to expend on your behalf. ABC Family Medicine is designed for situations just like this one and can provide more efficient, cost-effective care.
Our mission is to provide the Dodge City area the best healthcare possible in a kind, caring environment.
We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most forms of insurance. Walk-in are always welcome and we always accept new patients.
Primary Care
Get Your Medical Needs Addressed Today!
At ABC Family Medicine, we offer primary care and family care services without appointments. We provide the same services as a primary care physician without long waiting times or rigid schedules.
Overview of Primary Care Services
Most services provided by a primary care physician can be handled immediately by ABC Family Medicine. Plus, we can provide nearly all of the non-life-threatening treatments of an emergency room. We offer comprehensive health care for people and continuous care whether you’re an individual or have a large family in the Dodge City area.
Below is a list of some of the general primary care services we offer:
- Illness –Unexpected flus, colds, and other illnesses are one of the most common reasons people visit ABC Family Medicine. While these are not usually life-threatening problems, they take their toll and can severely disrupt your life. We can provide you with treatment the same day you suspect you’re coming down with something.
- Injuries & Accidents – If your injury is not life-threatening or at risk for serious complications, you can have it treated at ABC Family Medicine for a fraction of what it would cost at the emergency room. We treat broken bones, fractures, lacerations and cuts, whiplash, joint pains, and more.

Do you or a family member have a medical issue that needs to be taken care of right away? ABC Family Medicine has you covered. We do not require appointments or referrals. When you need our help, all you need to do is walk in and tell us what’s wrong.
ABC Family Medicine takes walk-in care to a new level by offering additional on-site services such as x-rays and labs, improved wait times, speedier visits, and treatment from a highly trained, medical staff. We accept most local and national insurance plans and offer very affordable self-pay options.
What are the Benefits of Walk-in Care?
Walk-in care services are focused on convenience, affordable services, and immediate responses to pressing medical issues. Oftentimes, your primary care physicians are not always available when you need them. Because we do not require appointments, you can come to us anytime you or someone in your family needs professional medical help for non-life-threatening issues. We can also work with your regular physician to make sure all of your medical records are up to date.
Is Walk-in Care the Same as Emergency Care?
It is important to note that walk-in care is not emergency care. While we can handle many medical situations, you should still call 911 in the event of a life-threatening emergency.
You should contact the nearest emergency room for serious issues such as:
- Electrical shock
- Pregnancy complications
- Severe abdominal pain
- Severe allergic reactions
- Severe burns
- Severe choking including drowning
- Severe/open fractures
- Signs of stroke or heart attack
- Unconsciousness
We’re Ready When You Are
ABC Family Medicine strives to make walk-in care simple. No calls are necessary. Simply walk in and a member of our team will be happy to assist you!

What You Should Know About X-Rays
X-rays are the most basic form of imaging tests, which are diagnostic procedures used to view the body’s internal structures. You do not need to do anything to prepare for an X-ray and the test should not cause any significant discomfort. These tests can help medical professionals diagnose fractures, tumors, arthritis, lung damage, and more.
X-rays utilize minimal amounts of radiation in order to create images. Radiation exposure from an x-ray should not cause any damage to an adult or child, but could be dangerous for a developing baby. Additionally, if you have received other radiation-based imaging tests in the last year you should tell our staff. Exposure to imaging radiation several times in a short time could be damaging. Otherwise, these are one of the safest medical procedures available!

Walk-In Flu Shots
Get Protection for the Upcoming Flu Season
All throughout flu season, which usually begins around October, ABC Family Medicine is stocked with flu shots—all available on a walk-in basis. Protect yourself against one of the most dangerous and prevalent U.S. health concerns.
Don’t Put it Off—The Flu is Nothing to Take Lightly!
People who have never had the flu often mistake it for the common cold. The truth is that the flu is a very serious and potentially fatal disease. The dangers of the flu are not talked about very openly anymore because the widespread availability of flu shots has significantly reduced the number of serious flu cases.
Don’t be misled, receiving a flu vaccine is important for both your personal health and the well-being of your community. Since 2010, the Centers for Disease Control estimate anywhere between 140,000 and 170,000 people are hospitalized for the flu each year. The best way to prevent this serious disease from affecting your family is by receiving a flu shot once a year before the end of October.
Physicals
School and Sports Physicals
Most schools and sports teams require children to undergo a physical before the new school year or sports season starts. These exams assess a child’s health to ensure that they are physically fit to go to school or participate in athletic activities.
If you need a physical haven’t had time to schedule an appointment with your regular pediatrician, don’t worry! ABC Family Medicine offers sports and school physicals for walk-in patients.
DOT Physicals
What is Covered in a DOT Physical Exam?
If you’re a professional truck or bus driver, you may have been told that you need a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Mandated by federal law, this checkup clears you for driving commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) and helps ensure that you and fellow CMV drivers can handle the long hours, exhausting schedules, and stress of operating commercial vehicles.
What is the DOT physical?
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) sets regulations for safe operation of commercial vehicles in the country. Each state also has specific regulations. The test assesses your general health, as well as mental and emotional fitness for the demands of professional driving.
The FMCSA requires all commercial drivers to carry a certificate of good health, which you’ll receive upon passing your DOT Medical Examination. Only medical professionals who are listed on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners can issue your certificate. Those listed on the registry have had the proper training in FMCSA regulations to determine if you’re healthy enough to work safely and ensure that you’re not wrongly disqualified. ABC Family Medicine offers DOT physicals for walk-in patients.

Tired Of The Got To Go Feeling?
Pelvic floor muscles are the layer of muscles that support the pelvic organs and span the bottom of the pelvis. Strong pelvic floor muscles gives you control over your bladder and bowel. Weakened pelvic floor muscles mean your internal organs are not fully supported and you may have difficulty controlling the release of urine.
How Does EMSELLA Work?
EMSELLA utilizes electromagnetic energy to deliver thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions in a single session. These contractions re-educate the muscles of incontinent patients.
